NANCY BOCK NAMED VICE PRESIDENT OF EDUCATION AT SOAP AND DETERGENT ASSOCIATION

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 26, 2003 - The Soap and Detergent Association has promoted Nancy L. Bock to the position of Vice President of Education. Bock previously served as Senior Director of Consumer Education.

"Educational outreach on the safe, beneficial and proper use of cleaning products and their ingredients has always been a major priority for The Soap and Detergent Association," said Ernie Rosenberg, SDA President and CEO. "During her time with SDA, Nancy Bock has brought all of those efforts to a higher level. Our members benefit greatly through her professionalism, knowledge, strategic approach and outstanding network of educational contacts."

Nancy came on board at SDA as Director of Consumer Education in January 2001. Her responsibilities include educating the public about the link between health and hygiene, providing accurate information on product usage, and representing the industry at national/international conferences and with the media.

Nancy has more than 20 years of experience in the family and consumer sciences field. That experience includes four years as Chapter Relations Coordinator at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (formerly Future Homemakers of America), Reston, VA; 12 years as an Extension Agent for Cooperative Extension Services in Virginia and West Virginia; and two years as a Consumer Marketing Specialist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Ms. Bock came to SDA from the American Chemical Society in Washington, DC, where she served as Manager of the Office of Local Section Activities.

Bock is a graduate of West Virginia University, where she received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Home Economics Education.
