SDA UNVEILS 2003 ANNUAL MEETING & INDUSTRY CONVENTION PROGRAM:

"GETTING THINGS DONE"

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS: RETIRED HONEYWELL CEO LARRY BOSSIDY ON "EXECUTION: THE DISCIPLINE OF GETTING THINGS DONE"

WASHINGTON, DC, November 6, 2002 -- The Soap and Detergent Association's (SDA) 2003 Annual Meeting and Industry Convention will feature a program that reflects the mindset of SDA and its membership: "Getting Things Done."

The Annual Meeting, scheduled for January 29-Februrary 2, 2003, will once again take place at Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, Florida. SDA members and interested attendees can now easily register for the meeting online at SDA's website: www.cleaning101.com.

Among the program highlights for the 2003 Convention:

  • Breakfast speaker, Friday, January 31: -- Larry Bossidy, Retired Chairman & CEO, Honeywell International Inc, will speak on "Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done." Mr. Bossidy co-authored the best selling book of the same name, and will share with SDA members his expertise on the importance of effective, hands-on leadership in today's competitive business environment.

  • Saturday afternoon, February 1 - A Special Appearance By Heloise -- Nationally syndicated columnist and talk show host Heloise -- whom the New York Daily News called the "High Priestess of Household Hints" -- will be our special guest on Saturday afternoon. Attendees can expect an informative and entertaining conversation with world's most famous name in household advice, who will discuss her new book, "Heloise Conquers Stinks and Stains."

  • SDA Issues Briefing, Thursday, January 30: SDA staff will present a detailed update on the Association's major technical, regulatory, government affairs, international, public relations and consumer education issues and programs, and their impact on the cleaning products industry. The briefing is open to all meeting attendees.

  • Saturday night entertainment with "Barrage": A Mardi Gras theme surrounds Saturday night's dinner and entertainment, with casual attire encouraged. Barrage is a world-class contemporary violin/fiddle ensemble that combines music, theatre, dance and song. The group has been featured nationwide on PBS and is currently touring around the world.
